  so much information on this website, so many raw emotions felt by individual's as a direct consequence of being in this 'religion', the underbelly of wt teachings that the organisation tries it's damnedest to keep from you, the general public, in essence, what is it that these people really believe in a nutshell?.

  jehovah's witnesses believe that this whole world is lying in the complete control and power of the wicked one, satan the devil.

  who is satan according to their belief structure?

  Well mark I am coming to the conclusion that despite all its claims to be on God's side and in a spiritual war against Satan himself the WTB&TS is itself the great harlot, She herself is the great apostate. preaching one thing publically and acting otherwise. Even their teachings pervert the scriptures.

  God is a God of truth. There is nothing truthful about the WTS.

  God is a God of mercy. There is nothing merciful about the WTS.

  God is a God of justice. There is nothing just about the WTS.

  God is a God of love. There is nothing loving about the WTS.

  They claim to follow and serve God. The God of truth, mercy, justice and love. Repeatedly their actions prove the exact opposite. This web site, Randy's website, and the silentlamb website as well as many others on the internet are full of stories proving them to be liars, merciless, unjust and most definitely unloving.

  God warns a double punishment on those who hurt the flock. It's time will come.

  Disgusting JW Funeral story

  i heard of a funeral held for a sister last week in a kh.. her non-jw daughter-in-law write a poem for her, and wanted to read it at the service in the kingdom hall.

  the d-i-l had studied many years ago but was never baptized.

  however, because she was wearing slacks, she was refused to read it from the platform and had to read it from her seat in the audience.. how low can you go?

  AAAAK I was up at 4:30 this morning after a dream about my mother's funeral. She is still alive.

  But since we don't talk (because I am apostate - not that we really talked anyways) I know that family members who are JWs will try to arrange the funeral. Actually I will be surprised if they even contact me but I am hoping the non-JW side will call.

  Of her five children not one is a JW. I am the oldest. If I do hear of it I think I want to be there. I don't want the borg taking over. I don't want an indoctrination speech given. I want my siblings and I to have the opportunity to say goodbye to this woman in a way that will bring us closure to a life of abuse and neglect.

  I doubt I could stop them from doing their own thing but I'll be damned if I let them stop me from doing what I and the rest of us need.

  My sister says our mother has willed her estate to the borg - doubt any of us can do someting about that and well we all get along without anything from her now so it really doesn't matter to me (not that she has a lot anyways.

  Thanks for the vent - will be doing some thinking on this. Mother is 68 and apparently not in good health.

  When I was a kid my dream was to go to university and learn to work with abused kids. Well my mother forced me to quit high school after grade 10 and stay home to take care of my sister and 2 brothers while she went to work. We were dubs at the time. So between her wanting me to quit school and the dub view of college and univ I gave up my dream

  During my incarceration as a JW I learned sign language. After I left the dubs I got a few jobs in the deaf community but was told I needed to get qualified so I went to college as a mature student - after 16 yrs out of school and no high school diploma. I was scared but gave a couple of courses a try and did quite well so enrolled full time.

  Half way through my first year I realized I really wanted to get into counseling - my old dream and shifted my focus from the disabled to the abused. Despite being told I was stupid and would never amount to anything I graduated with honors. The week before I graduated I had my papers for a non-profit organization to provide support services to adult survivors of abuse.

  Then I tackled university. I sometimes wonder how I did it full time student, part time work, raising two teens, and doing my own recovery work and running a company.

  My dream came true.

  I too wrote a lot as a kid and although it wasn't my main dream I did think of it a lot. My mother and I would say our lives were the stuff movies were made of. Although I have no desire to write a movie I do have an e-book of my poetry that was sold on the net. And I am working on my autobiography

  Support forum for those abused in WTS

  over the last few weeks a lot of people have come forward and posted stories of abuse while they were jws.

  these often were experiences as a child victim or a wife at the hands of an abusive husband.

  the forums are open to active jws and those who have left.

  As far as I know there is no time limit for the amnesia. Memory is so individual for each person and situation.

  What we do know about traumatic memory is that it is not stored the same way as normal memory. Let's say for example that you did see her coming even for a second. The only thing your mind has time to do is prepare - if that. The mind will automatically go into the flight or fight response and if neither of those options are available it will take the next step and "play dead". At this point you are in trauma mode. This doesn't take a long time - blink of the eye - I doubt anyone could measure this. But once in trauma mode your thinking is different. Time is distorted. Things may seem faster or slower. And the memories gets encoded into the brain in a variety of different ways depending on what is important at that particular moment.

  What we do know is that once in trauma mode the easiest way to regain the memory is to be in a similar emotional state. I think this is becuase once in trauma mode you are in a heightened emotional state. Accessing this state can allow the memory to surface. The down side of this is who really wants to be retraumatized just to recall something terrible.

  Some things are better left alone unless there is a really important reason to know.

  BTW Contrary to popular myth hypnosis is not the way to access these memories and if a memory did surface during hypnosis few courts would accept it

  a friend asked me to accompany him to the district assembly held this past weekend in our area.

  in the talk at 11:40 am sunday, entitled be like jeremiah--fearlessly proclaim the word of god, as others have posted on this board, a reference was made about the dateline program, but no specifics were given.. from the meagre notes and memory, i will try and paraphrase the argument the speaker read from his pre-packaged discourse.

  he quoted the text from 1john 5:19, ....the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.

  i can't tell you how much i am looking forward to englishman's bar-b-q, thoroughly looking forward to it, can't wait.. one thing frightens me though, how 'normal' do i have to behave on the day, i mean, will there be decent music there, music that gets me dancin?

  will i be able to let my hair down a bit within reason?.

  women, if they're all spoken for already, well, it won't get boring will it?

  jehovah's witnesses proclaim the good news of the kingdom under the power of god's holy spirit.

  jesus commanded his followers to preach in the most distant parts of the earth and promised them that the spirit of god would guide them in this life-saving work (acts 1:8).. without the spirit of god, one cannot continue preaching about jesus and god's kingdom (matthew 24:14).

  one surely will not have god's spirit if one preaches a negative message (against jehovah's servants) from door to door.

  i was df'd a number of years ago.

  my parents never shunned me - they didn't feel that df'ing broke the family ties.

  but when my brothers or uncle were in town i was "allowed" to come visit at certain times when their other jw friends would not be around.
